Dr. Çağatay Karabat, a project manager at the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK), is the only Turkish Academician and Speaker at NIST’s well-regarded International Biometrics Performance Testing Conference at Washington.
This year, he gave an informative presentation on “Biometrics and Border Security Challenges” where he referred BEOGS (Turkey’s first Biometric E-gate). In his speech, he addressed that although the extent of face recognition is wider in ABC gates at Europe, fingerprint identification has increasing capabilities to diminish False Rejection Rates at borders. The audience that he gave presentation were consisted of the professionals concerned with biometric system evaluation, procurement, deployment, maintenance, design, configuration, integration, standardization, research and development.
Having a distinct honour to listening Mr. Karabat at NIST, Papilon Savunma presents its special thanks for mutual information interchange in regards to e-gates and border security applications.
